SISTER JOURNEY'S ANNUAL PINK TEA IN HONOR OR BREAST CANCER AWARENESS

The Pink Tea is an annual luncheon hosted by Sister’s Journey that honors, celebrates, and supports women whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Black women and is the leading cause of cancer death among Black women in the United States. 'Black women are approximately 38% more likely to die from breast cancer than White women, despite being about 5% less likely to be diagnosed with the disease.'

The Pink Tea was created to remind women that a breast cancer diagnosis does not mean that life is over—it can be the beginning of a new chapter filled with strength, hope, healing, and purpose. The event provides an opportunity for women and their loved ones to come together, share their stories, and learn important information about prevention, early detection, treatment, survivorship, and post-operative options.

Throughout the luncheon, attendees hear from medical professionals who provide valuable education about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The program may also feature a fashion show or live entertainment, along with an inspiring guest speaker who shares a personal journey, experience, or connection to breast cancer.

Guests enjoy a beautiful meal, raffles, and an array of vendors offering unique art, jewelry, apparel, beauty products, and other creative goods. But beyond the food, fashion, entertainment, and shopping, the heart of the Pink Tea is the community it creates.

There are moments filled with laughter, moments that bring tears, and moments that remind us of the power of sisterhood. The Pink Tea is a celebration of women who have faced breast cancer, those who continue their journey, those who have survived, and those whose lives have been forever touched by the disease.

One thing is certain: We are strong. We are brave. We are resilient. And we stand together, walking in unity with Sister’s Journey.
